The days were getting shorter and the weather was getting colder. Another autumn day was drawing to a close. Reclining by the warm glow of the old stone fireplace, I drift into a warm, comfortable, almost dream-like state, pondering the approaching holiday season.

Hmmm. I wonder...

Is our hectic, high-tech, mechanized world, capable of holding onto the real traditions of Christmas? Is the "Christmas Spirit" still something special, that we all hold deep within our souls? Or has it become merely a sanitized, byproduct, of an over-marketed, retail centered, materialistic world? Alas, I’m only a song-writer and surely don't know the answer to such deep questions.

What I do know is this. Our world would be a much better place if we treated one-another with respect and recognized that our similarities far out-weigh our differences.

So for all, I have just one wish this holiday season, Let’s Have Peace On Earth Tonight.

Happy Holidays To All,

~Mark

Lyrics

Let's Have Peace On Earth Tonight

They travelled by night and followed the stars
Coming from far-away lands
Bringing their gifts, bestowed unto him
A child lies sleeping in the hay

Let there be peace on this Earth tonight
Let all our children find love in our time

Days turned to years, he became a fine man
Someone that many looked up to
They came from afar to meet the man
who suffered for all of mankind

Let there be peace on this Earth tonight
Let all our children find love in our time

Many have died defending his name
Men killing men, who's to blame?
So for this day, let's all unite
Let's have peace on Earth tonight.

Let there be peace on this Earth tonight
Let all our children find love in our time
Let there be peace on this Earth tonight
Let all our children find love in our time
